Teeth

I recently finished my third and last dental appointment. Over 9 hours of drilling, scraping, tugging, clamping and pouring. I had every silver/mercury filling drilled out and replaced; but not with more metal. The idea – simple. Get the metal out of my mouth! I’m hoping that the reduction in mercury in my head will heal my body of what I suspect is mercury poisoning. I think my body is allergic to the stuff and my thyroid is freaking out because of it.

But this post is really about the bill. $3,000 AFTER insurance. My first thought was, “I could use $3,000 on something far more important than paying for pain.” But God was clear when He spoke to me. You see, I had the money. I gave it away. Nobody likes to toss money to the wind. But have you ever thought that God uses your money? In my heart of hearts I could hear the Lord speak softly, “I’m using your money to help other families.”

You see, the dentist, the office manager, the hygienist, the landlord, the cleaning lady, the guy that reads the electric meter – they all have jobs. They all probably have families. And maybe someone has a child who has a medical issue. Maybe a spouse lost a job and the family is suffering. God sees that. He feels their pain. And guess what? Maybe he used my money to help those families. The idea is simple. Next time you are dealing with an unforeseen situation that takes from your wallet, remember – you might be helping someone in worse straits than you are. Praise God that you can be of help to your fellow humans. God really does use your money. It’s a good thing. And the warmth in your heart might just make you show your teeth!
